Bags packed! Fuel filled bike! Helmets on! Pre-booked our room at Whistling Woodzs resort! & Ride!
There we were on our way to one of the most amazing jungles of India, Dandeli. It just took some pictures of Dandeli and a promise to give the best display picture for my friends Facebook profile to get him on board with this trip.
Frankly for me going on a long bike ride is the solution to 90% of my life's problems, when you are out there riding against the wind as if you were actually escaping from the clutches of the world, after some brief moment even the thoughts in your mind will settle down to make way for the calmness around you & somewhere in between all this calmness you find yourself the real you!
The ride to Dandeli is one such journey that I have stumbled upon in my experience.
It took us nearly 8 hours to reach the threshold of Dandeli (which includes "quite some" smoke breaks). Okay! I have been to Lonavala, Matheran, Panchgani & Mahabaleshwar, you just name any popular hill station near Maharashtra, I have been there, but hands down this is the most beautiful artwork of nature that I have witnessed.
We passed through the Ghats right in the heart of the forest as the trees sped past us, this is like a dream come true for every person staying in a metropolitan, to be in the presence of something as beautiful as this!
It was almost 7 in the evening we were getting close to our destination. The most satisfying thing is that I was kinda enjoying my personal space away from the scorching heat of the sun hidden in the shades of these trees.
My friend was ogling like an owl for every signage of Whistling Woodzs for the directions.
The final few kilometers were left to enter the resort and the one thing that kept me surprised was that the road was right in the depth of the forest without hampering with the beauty of nature.
After 9 hours of the bike ride, there it was the extravagant wooden carved arch which read welcome to Whistling Woodzs! I love how some people express few things so beautifully but for me, this was something that could not have been expressed. Nature was right intact, the only part the resort did was fill in the missing pieces!
We were welcomed with friendly smiles and were given the keys to our room. I was kind of beat by the journey, so had planned to take a hot shower and then take a tour of the resort and treat ourselves with some chilled beer whilst admiring the beauty of nature and the sound of the flowing Kali river.
But fate had some cool plans for me this time :p
The journey went ahead to reveal a lot more than I had planned!
Stay tuned for the next part!
